Visions of a NEW Orphanage!

The directors of HCRM (Pastor Jean Fritz Nicolas and Madame Mireille Nicolas), adoptive parents and supporters of HCRM have long felt the need for HCRM to own its own building. Currently, the children of HCRM are housed in a small rented building with no fresh water well. Rent is $15,000 per year and water delivery is very expensive. It is difficult to get the children to school safely and there is minimal space for them to play.

The vision of a new, safe and secure “HCRM Village”, encompassing orphanage, church, school and medical clinic, with property
water wells, is coming closer to a reality thanks to a Canadian group called
Engineers Ministry International. eMI is a nonprofit Christian development  organization.

An eMI team, led by Greg Young and made up of volunteer engineers, architects and draftsmen, visited HCRM
in February, 2009. Pastor Jean Fritz Nicolas and the team inspected the land in Gressier that was purchased for the new construction. Together eMI volunteers and the Directors of HCRM began designing plans for the new orphanage complex, “HCRM Village”.  The plans were completed in February, 2010.

Since the January 12, 2010 earthquake, the need for space, water and security are greater than ever. The number of children at HCRM has doubled and is expected to keep rising as Pastor Jean Fritz Nicolas and Madame Nicolas are approached daily to take in more orphans.

Fundraising for construction costs and searches for volunteer labor has begun. Stay tuned for status reports on the progress of the new HCRM construction.  Please see our
Support Page for ways to donate to HCRM’s daily general needs and to HCRM’s new construction fund.
